Zero announces expansion in South America

Zero Motorcycles has announced the expansion of its South American sales and distribution operations with the addition of Grupo Izzo. The new Zero S, DS and XU models are now available for demo rides and additional models are expected to arrive later this year.

New 700cc engine from Honda

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the development of a new motorcycle engine with powerful torque in the low- to mid-speed range and top class, fuel-efficient environment performance, along with a second-generation Dual Clutch Transmission. This new engine is a liquid-cooled, 700cc, 4-stroke, in-line, 2-cylinder engine that fits into the mid-class range (displacement between 500 and 750cc) popular in Europe. Fuel economy exceeds 27km/L,* best in the mid-class range, and achieves an approximate 40%* improvement over other sports models in its class.

This new engine can be coupled with a newly developed lightweight, compact second-generation Dual Clutch Transmission, featuring a smooth, direct feel and excellent transmission efficiency, in addition to a 6-speed manual transmission.

This new engine will be mounted on three models based on different concepts, which are slated for exhibition at EICMA2011(69th International Motorcycle Exhibition) to be held in November in Milan, Italy.

Honda developed this new motorcycle engine in order to realize a set of motorcycles based on its new concept of offering outstanding fuel efficiency in the mid-class while delivering powerful, throbbing torque in the normal range for touring and urban riding.

Development was performed to meet these requirements:
- An engine that is easy to handle with plentiful torque in the range normally used, and which also delivers a pleasant, throbbing feel during sporty rides
- Top-class, fuel-efficient environmental performance best suited for the next-generation mid-class engine
A lightweight, compact design that allows more freedom in the body layout and provides highly convenient space

Honda determined the engine layout after examining a variety of engine types from numerous perspectives and decided on an in-line, 700cc, 2-cylinder engine with a 62º forward lean (cylinder assembly angle). To meet a wide variety of uses, two transmissions can be coupled with this engine: the second generation of Honda's innovative Dual Clutch Transmission, and a 6-speed manual transmission.

Canadian Superbike champion to ride Superstock 1000 FIM Cup

The newly crowned 2011 Canadian Superbike Champion, Brett McCormick, has been given the chance to compete in the final two rounds of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup series riding for the Garnier Alpha Racing Team aboard a BMW S1000RR. The 10 round championship series competes at all the European rounds of the FIM World Superbike Championship which most closely resembles the type of machinery and rules to the CSBK Series that McCormick is most familiar with. The final two rounds will be held at Magny-Cours in France on October 2nd and then the finale will be at the very popular Portimao round in Portugal October 16th.

This outstanding opportunity for McCormick is a direct result of the close partnership between BMW Motorrad Canada and BMW Motorrad Motorsports division in Germany. Together with their racing partner, Alpha Racing, McCormick had been on their radar this year as an up-and-coming talent to watch in the global BMW Motorrad racing family. Based on the dominating performance McCormick compiled in the 2011 Canadian Superbike Championship, this opportunity quickly became a reality once the first Superbike Championship for BMW in Canada was secured at round six August 20th at Mosport International Raceway.

Last December when the announcement was first made of McCormick returning to Canada to join the radX/BMW Motorrad Canada Superbike Team, one of the biggest reasons to sign with BMW was because of the global reach this brand has at promoting the career of a young superbike phenom. Another reason was the solid team that was compiled in Canada to support the riders that included long time superbike technician, Patrice Goyette. As part of this opportunity, McCormick will be bringing Goyette as his crew chief for the two races in Europe. The “dynamic duo” formed a solid relationship this season in Canada that will only make this opportunity for McCormick that much easier.

Goyette has two years of experience working with the BMW S1000RR on the radX Team so this knowledge will be a valuable asset in preparing the bike for McCormick to ride in this highly competitive series.

- Round #1 – Circuit Icar – Pole position, Led every lap, Track record, Margin of victory +10 seconds
- Round #2 – Shannonville Motorsport Park – Pole position, Led every lap, Margin of victory +20 seconds
- Round #5 – Atlantic Motorsport Park – After a big practice crash forces McCormick to use back-up bike, led every lap and wins 5th straight race
- Round #6 – Mosport International Raceway – Pole position, Track record, Passes former champ Jordan Szoke on last lap in final corner to win the race and claim the 2011 CSBK Championship

At the final round of the Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship this past weekend at Motopark in Chatsworth, ON the Inside MotoX & Off Road Magazine Eastern Canadian Enduro Champions were crowned.

Ducati announces 1199 Panigale Superbike

Ducati officially announces the naming of its new generation 2012 Superbike as the “Ducati 1199 Panigale” and confirms that the unveiling and first public display will be at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy, November 10-13, 2011.

Having attracted massive, world-wide interest during the machine’s many test phases, the exciting new model is also now officially named in an emotional video released on the Italian manufacturer’s website,, and Ducati Motor Holding’s official Youtube channel. The wait to discover the incredible performance, innovative design and ground-breaking technologies of the new 1199 Panigale will continue for just a few more weeks.

Pronounced “Pan-ee-gah-lee”, the new model breaks with Ducati’s Superbike tradition by adding a name to its 1199cc engine capacity (referred to as eleven-nine-nine), making a significant and warm association to its historic roots in the Borgo Panigale area of Bologna. In an Italian territory known as “Motor Valley” and where high performance and racing runs through the veins of its passionate people, Ducati now underline their pride in being world ambassadors for the “Made in Italy” title by immortalizing their home town in the name of the new Superbike.

Quebec Rounds of Canadian Enduro Championship

Husqvarna Canada’s Guy Giroux has dominated the E1 Pro Class at the Québec rounds of the 2011 Canadian Enduro Championship.

Giroux lead an impressive charge by the Husqvarna racers that were chasing victory in the beautiful hillsides surrounding Labelle, Québec. After two days of battle, Husky mounted riders fought their way to a total of 14 Podiums; including 7 Wins.

Giroux traded up his trusty TE 310 for a TXC 250 and jumped into the E1 battle at the Québec rounds in a tribute to injured Husqvarna Canada star, Philippe Chainé.

Prior to the serious injury that Phil suffered in late August, Chainé had maintained a solid lead in the E1 Class after the Western swing of the Canadian Enduro Championship with 3 Wins in the first 4 Rounds. After his dominant performance at the Eastern CEC Rounds in 2010, there was little doubt that Chainé was in a great position to nail the E1 CEC Title in 2011.

While Giroux was storming the E1 Pro Class, his Husky Canada team-mate Ryan Graffunder along with new addition, Samuel Rousseau, were also on the gas and causing havoc for their competitors.

Graffunder, the CEC’s Top Pro Junior in both 2009 & 2010, was having his best ride ever at the Eastern rounds and hammered his big bore Husky to 2nd Place in the E3 Pro Class at both rounds.

Ryan has a firm grip on 2nd Overall in the E3 Championship as the series heads to Ontario for the final rounds this weekend. The young warrior from Vavenby, British Columbia, is also in a great position to claim the Top Pro Junior (for riders under 21) for the third year in a row.

Graffunder has continued to hone his skills in 2011 and in addition to his success in the CEC series, Ryan logged another impressive ride at this year’s Xtinction Extreme Enduro and also made his first foray into the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series.

After a great ride at the Everett, Washington round of the EnduroCross series in August, and undoubtedly motivated by the success of his cousin, Zip Ty Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder, Ryan is chomping at the bit to have another crack at an AMA EnduroCross race as soon as possible.

“The Quebec rounds were great for sure.” said young Graffunder. “Other than a small problem with a damaged chain guide and ripping a rad hose open that we fixed quickly, the weekend went smooth and I felt good. The bike ran strong and I had my best results in the East that I’ve had in the last 3 years so I feel like I am improving and getting closer to my goal of taking wins. I’m definitely excited to racing the finals in Ontario this weekend”.

Ryan’s brother and Husqvarna team-mate, Nick Graffunder, was forced to miss the Eastern rounds of this year’s CEC series. Nick fractured a bone in his hand at the Xtinction Extreme Enduro in August and unfortunately it has not healed quickly enough to allow him to race the September rounds.

15 year old smoking gun, Samuel Rousseau, proved without a doubt that he is deserving of his new seat on the Husqvarna Canada team by nailing 1st Place in the A Class at both rounds 5 & 6 on his CR 150 two stroke.

Rousseau has being training under the watchful eye of Husky’s Guy Giroux all season and his work ethic and results have been impressive to say the least. Sam earned his stripes in a big way during his debut at the Canadian Enduro Championship and made it clear that he will certainly be a force to be reckoned with as his young racing career progresses. No doubt he will be standing on lots of podiums in 2012.

In the B Class, Intermediate riders, Alexandre Gougeon and Christophe Mongrain hammered their Huskies to well earned podiums in the gnarly roots and rocks surrounding Labelle.

Gougeon pounded his JP Powersports TXC 250 to 2nd Place at Round 5 and then upped his game the following day to take the Round 6 Win and claim the Overall Class Win for the weekend.

Mongrain climbed the podium on Saturday after his 3rd Place finish aboard his FLM Sport Husky CR 150 but unfortunately was unable to compete at Round 6 on Sunday.

Christophe has had a great season and recently clinched the Junior Championship in Quebéc’s new CMRC Competition Off-road Series.

In the Veteran 40+ Class, a great duel erupted between JP Powersports Husky racers Jean-Pierre Favreau and Luc Gingras that saw them finish 1-2 for the weekend. Gingras piloted his TE 250 Meo Replica to the Win on Saturday with JP close behind on his TC 250 in 2nd Place.

Favreau was on the throttle on Sunday, posting the fastest test times in all but one test, and stormed his way to 1st Place at Round 6 and snagged the Overall Class Win for the Québec rounds. A costly mistake in the second Enduro test on Sunday left Gingras sitting in 3rd Place for the day but still holding on to 2nd Overall in the Veteran 40+ Class for the event.

In the Super Vet 50+ Class, Husky racer Francois Geoffrion put his Husky on the podium at Round 5 with a 3rd Place finish but, like Mongrain, had to miss Round 6 on Sunday.

“We decided that I should move to the E1 Class for a few reasons” remarked Giroux. “The biggest reason was to pay tribute to Phil for not being able to defend his lead in E1 after winning 3 out of 4 rounds out West. I also love the small bikes. I had a blast screaming the 250 and it was awesome to win both days and keep our team’s dominance of E1 going for Husky and especially for Phil.

Ryan and Sam both ran great and were able to work through any issues they had without any problems. Ryan had his best run ever out East and I was really proud to see Sam on top of that podium both days. He really earned it and I can see that he is going to do very well in this sport.”

“Even though we were missing Phil and Nick, it was absolutely one of our most successful race weekends.” said team founder and Husqvarna Canada’s National Marketing Manager, Marc Coffin. “We got some great news last Friday, just as everyone was in final preparation for the weekend, that Phil had crossed another major hurdle in his recovery and was doing great. It was a big relief and it had everyone feeling pumped as they got ready to race on Saturday morning.

To continue to have such great results with the team plus to see so many other local Husky riders taking wins and climbing the podium is very satisfying. It certainly proves the competiveness of the motorcycles and it is great payback for our riders who have worked like animals to make sure they are in the position to win. We have come a long way since we started last year and I’m sure our program will be even stronger in 2012.”

In only its second year of competition, the FP Husqvarna team has enjoyed an enormous amount of success. Since entering its first races the spring of 2010, the FP crew has fought their way to almost 70 Pro Class Podiums in Regional and National races across the country; including over 25 Wins.

In 2010, the new Husqvarna team finished its debut season in the Canadian Enduro Championship with 10 Pro Class Podiums and the Top Pro Junior Award.

With 2 Championships, 19 Wins and over 40 podiums already under its belt in 2011, including a clean sweep of both the Pro and the Ladies A Champioships in the CMRC Quebec Off-Road Series, the Husqvarna Canada squad is definitely on track for another outstanding racing season!

Zero Motorcycles demonstrates electric motorcycle technology to US Secretary of Transportation

United States Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood received a personal demonstration of Zero’s 2011 electric motorcycle product line. The program was held in conjunction with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation 2011 (APEC) Senior Officials Meeting being held this week in San Francisco. Zero participated in the Innovative Technologies in Sustainable Transportation program hosted across the bay at FedEx Oakland Airport. Zero highlighted its electric motorcycle technology amidst a wide variety of alternative fuel transportation solutions, including the Nissan Leaf, Honda Clarity, Chevy Volt, BMW Mini-E and Ford Focus EV.

“We are honored to be here and to see the interest from Secretary LaHood. Not only did he see the potential for these electric motorcycles, he was very encouraged by the green transportation jobs Zero Motorcycles is creating here in America,” said Jay Friedland, Vice President of Strategy and Sustainability for Zero Motorcycles. “Our motorcycles are truly game changing and once you ride one, you immediately realize that electric motorcycles are here to stay. Our motorcycles are high performance, fun to ride and the best part is, you can buy one today.”

Besides an overall interest in the Zero product line, LaHood showed particular interest in the efforts to extend Federal Tax credits for electric motorcycles. Ontario - Motorcycle Hearse Business on Dragon's Den

A while back we told you about George and his Forever Free Motorcycle Hearse business (based in Windsor, Ontrario). He's got a 1998 Harley Davidson Police Special Motorcycle with a custom built sidecar bed that is used to carry a casket.

George appeared before the Dragon's on  April 23rd but the episode is set to air this September.

Forever Free Motorcycle Hearse Service will be putting a pitch to the TV SHOW the DRAGONS DEN to take it to the next level. This will happen Sept 28th @ 8pm on CBC TV. George & Val have been sworn to secrecy since they went to the CBC Studio in Toronto back in April.So tune in and see the out come for yourself.It is an experience of a life time for George & Val.


Husqvarna E-Go Concept

Husqvarna has unveiled a concept lightweight electric motorcycle dubbed the Concept E-go.

My advice - build it - but you'd better ditch that name.  E-Go?  How about an Army of Darkness throwback movie reference "Boomstick".  Then anytime anybody asked you what it was you could say... And THIS... is my BOOMstick!

Great looking single sided swingarm and check out that single sided double leg front fork. The styling says aggressive and fun but Husqvarna indicates it's a good design for first time bikers and urban commuters.  That doesn't really spell excitement to us.  Time will tell!

Royal Distributing CEC and Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship finals this weekend at Motopark

Historic Motopark is ready to host the final rounds of the 2011 Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship and the Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship. In addition to all our series sponsors WEC wants to thank CORE (title sponsor of this event), the OFTR (providing trail marshalls) and KTM Canada (providing awards dinner) for their support of this event which is guaranteed to go down as one of the best Enduro's ever to be held in Ontario.

The course is finished and will be ready for riders to pre-walk special tests by 3pm on Thursday. The Enduro test is a brand new trail on an adjacent property. John Nelson from Machine Racing inspected it this past weekend and gave it his stamp of approval so its guaranteed to be something to challenge and entertain riders of all ability levels.

New Ducati 848 Streetfighter

A smaller streetfighter is coming from Ducati! 

Better buy some track days if you're getting this bike because it's going to hard to keep this bike under the speed limits on the road.  Not sure how this styling is going to hold up long term but it definitely could be described as minimalist and angular.  Looks a little like an insect to me.  A very angry insect!

Ducati confirms their 2012 Streetfighter 848 with the first officially released images of the brand new model set to add everyday accessibility to the Italian manufacturer’s famous naked sport bike family.

Combining a new and brilliantly engineered 848 Testastretta 11° engine with the enhanced geometry of a chassis that provides confidence-inspiring agility, the Streetfighter 848 has enriched its user-friendliness with a smooth and flexible power delivery, revised ergonomics and Ducati Traction Control.

The Ducati Streetfighter scored a round one knock-out when it entered the ring for the first time at the Milan show back in November 2008, winning the ‘Most Beautiful Bike’ award and raising the bar for extreme naked bikes. Its asphalt-ripping reputation became the desire of sport naked connoisseurs throughout the world and the Streetfighter 848 will now widen that appeal even further with enhanced usability.

Available in North America from January 2012 onwards, the new fighter is dressed in red for Ducati traditionalists, while yellow makes a return for mid-range purists and “dark stealth” provides a matte-black reminder of the Streetfighter’s aggressive image.

Voni Glaves and Ardys Kellerman - one million miles on BMW motorcycles

Voni Glaves and Ardys Kellerman are a couple of long distance riders who also happen to be fond of BMW motorcycles. As they both neared their 1 million mile mark they made plans to get together to reach the milestone together on U.S. Highway 550, the "Million Dollar Highway."

They're the first two women in North America to document riding one million miles on BMW motorcycles.

They reached this milestone at Red Mountain Overlook between Ouray and Silverton, Colorado the morning of August 30, 2011. Dealership documentation of their achievements has been sent to BMW Motorrad U.S.A. and to the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America.

Who are these ladies you may ask? Well - Glaves, 64, is a retired teacher who resides in the Texas Big Bend just north of Big Bend National Park. Kellerman, 79, is a retired electronics technician living in Lexington, Texas.

Kellerman purchased her first BMW in 1985. Glaves first BMW was her Mother's Day present in 1977.

Kellerman has owned 16 BMWs including a 1999 R1100RT with 170,000 miles while Glaves racked up her million miles on 15 different BMWs over the years with her highest mileage on a single motorcycle was 357,658 miles on a 1993 R1100RS, which she still owns!

So the next tiem one of your buddies is complaining about his sore wrists or butt tell him to suck it up!


VERY close on a BMW S1000RR

Wow - talk about a close call! Gizmag feature writer Loz Blain captured some pretty scary footage as he was testing the BMW S1000RR.  He was riding two-up and an SUV ran wide into the oncoming lane on a blind, cresting left hander and missed Loz and his pillion by the smallest of margins.

He keeps his cool remarkably well but shakes his head and lifts his visor shortly after the near miss.

Husqvarna TC449: a different style

Running with the herd can be comforting but breaking out in new directions is more stimulating and fun. Husqvarna has always made its own road, innovating with new projects like the TC449 which break away from tradition and the banal. To distinguish yourself where performance alone is not enough and evoke passion in those who know that – in competition too – you need a certain style. Because when it comes to big machines, innovating does not mean raw power... but how to handle it. The new TC449 explores beyond the horizon, perfecting the concepts introduced last year: tank below the seat to improve the centre of gravity, airbox high in the frame to take in fresh and clean air, and above all, the swing arm pivot coaxial with the gear box output shaft, reducing almost to zero the effects of chain drag. If eye candy doesn't affect the stopwatch, it's still a pleasure to know your bike is no ugly duckling. When biking is your true passion the goal is not the world championship, but the podium of your emotions. In the words of a master: which motocross bike did Steve McQueen ride? Husqvarna!

Extreme innovation

Massive horsepower needs careful handling. Best to let off steam on the track. Traction and manoeuvrability: these are the objectives of the TC449 and its revolutionary mechanical design. The tank has moved below the seat with the fuel cap to the rear and the air filter box is located directly behind the headstock, making the bike more balanced and a different shape, definitely more user friendly. The bodywork has integrated graphics (InMould technology) enhancing design and function, finally resolving the problem of adhesives that peel off under the power wash. Moreover, the graphic design on the new TC449 has been completely revised, and the aesthetic makeover extends to the frame, which is now black and the rims, now anodized silver.

The frame has also been changed at the steering-head area, reinforced with chrome-moly 25CrMo4 steel plates. The rear seat rail and engine supports have also been similarly strengthened. Given the improved rigidity of the frame, the preload of the Kayaba suspension was reset: the fork has a harder setting and the monoshock damps more slowly. It is softer at the start of the stroke, and has a new progressive spring.

To lighten and simplify the electrical system, the 2012 Husqvarna TC449 has had the entire wiring completely redesigned.

Engine: ignition to the future.

The ultra-modern twin cam four valve engine is fed by a Keihin electronic injection (46 mm throttle body), but that is not what is so special about it. The air intake path is much more linear than other bikes in the category, and allows impressive performance to be achieved easily. The dry sump crank-case utilises two lubrication pumps, intake and outlet; the sophistication of the engine can also be seen in the choice of bore/stroke ratio: 98 X 59.6 mm. It was decided to equip the TC449 with electric start, because anyone, even a champion, can lose precious seconds kick starting after a simple slide. Evolution never looks back, and even the modern mechanical design has been improved on the new 2012 TC449.

The radiators have been upgraded to improve the cooling efficiency, and the filter box breathes better thanks to a higher volume air intake. Engine performance has been raised by adjusting the valve timing and revising the two mappings for ignition/injection (now also selectable with the engine running). Mid range torque has been improved with a new intake manifold.

These changes do not affect the bike's reliability. On the contrary, the 2012 version engine undoubtedly has a more durable crankshaft, with galvanizing and high-resistance DLC treatments of the piston rod and rod bearing.


Codie Johnson named ‘AXO Athlete of the Week’ at MMRS MX Championships

Yamaha Motor Canada congratulates Codie Johnson on being voted as the ‘AXO Athlete of the Week’ at the Maguires Motocross Racing Series (MMRS) Championships in Madoc, Ontario.

Codie and his father, who hail from nearby Courtice, Ontario, arrived in Madoc well ahead of the first motos. They helped drive in stakes, hang up banners and prepare the facility for the 4-day event. 

“He’s a very polite, humble and overall nice kid. Like a lot of young racers, he’s happy just to be riding a dirt bike,” noted MMRS announcer, Kyle Carruthers.

The award is directed towards riders 50cc to 85cc classes, who show dedication and good sportsmanship towards competitors and race officials, qualities Yamaha strongly considers when reviewing racing sponsorship.

Codie’s positive and helpful attitude is matched with some great racing skill, as he finished top-10 in the 85cc 12-16 and Schoolboy classes. Attached to the ‘AXO Athlete of the Week’ honour is a complete set of AXO riding gear. Look for a very well dressed Codie Johnson in 2012!

Royal Distributing CEC Rounds 5 & 6 - Labelle, Quebec

After some exciting and challenging events in Western Canada in July the Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championships are returning to the East for rounds 5 & 6 in scenic Labelle, PQ on September 10 & 11th. For the Amateur riders this will also be Rounds 1 & 2 of the Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship. Contrary to some misconceptions, in order to compete in the Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship, racers do not require a license plate of any kind on the motorcycle. Also, no drivers license, insurance or ownership for the race vehicle is required. There are no complex timekeeping rules that take away from the objective which is the fastest rider wins

Labelle is a beautiful resort town located half hour north of the Mt Tremblant ski village. Mt Tremblant offers riders and spectators a great variety of excellent lodging and dining options.

The course in Labelle will be a fun and challenging mix of terrain. The MX test is one of the best in the series on a large sandy soil grass track with lots of traction. The enduro test has been described by riders as something comparable to what you would find at an enduro in Sweden or Finland. Last year one of the Pro riders, who has participated in a number of Six Days Enduros, got back to the pits after the first lap, took off his helmet and with a huge grin on his face said "Now THAT is a real enduro!".

The Western Canadian Enduro Championship wrapped up in Blairmore, AB in July and World Enduro Canada would like to congratulate those winners, many of whom will be travelling east to see if they can sweep thier class. All the more reason eastern riders need to show up and defend their turf and claim the Inside MotoX and Off Road Magazine Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship for themselves!

BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles at the IAA 2011.

The motorcycle business unit of BMW Group will be presenting its two brands BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles at the IAA 2011 in Frankfurt.

The leading international trade fair for mobility will be held this year under the motto “Future comes as standard”. From 15 to 25 September, more than 500 exhibitors will be presenting to trade visitors and the general public their special interpretations of individual mobility. The organisers are expecting over 850,000 visitors on the exhibition grounds in Frankfurt.

For the first time, BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles will have their own Motorrad Pavilion to round off the BMW Group presence at the world's largest motor show. The BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles stand will be next to the BMW Group Pavilion (Hall 11) in the outdoor area on the hall's north side.

Two world and a public premiere for the new Husqvarna NUDA 900R

BMW Motorrad will be presenting a cross section through its touring, enduro, urban, and sports products from its 2011 model range. These will be the current series motorcycles including the single cylinder enduro G 650 GS, the flat-twin bestseller R 1200 GS, and the new supertourer K 1600 GTL with inline six cylinder engine.

Corresponding to this presentation of BMW Automobiles, including the visionary studies BMW i3 Concept and BMW i8 Concept, another BMW Motorrad design study, this time on e-mobility, will be celebrating its world premiere.

Also Husqvarna Motorcycles, the second motorcycle brand of BMW Group, will be presenting a cross section through its innovative single cylinder sports motorcycles. In addition, the NUDA 900R, the first Husqvarna street motorcycle with two cylinders since 1937, will also be celebrating its trade fair and public premiere, when it will be presented in a version near to series production. BMW Motorrad Canada - Best August ever

BMW motorcycle sales are up this August vs. August last year but the year to date sales is down from the same year-to-date figures from last year.

The S1000RR was a hot seller last year and the F800GS as well so those high demand initial interest sales period are hard to maintain.

BMW Motorrad Canada reported best-ever August sales of 186 units, an increase of 0.5 per cent compared to August, 2010.

The year-to-date figure for the brand is 1,354 units, a decrease of 16.4 per cent compared to the same period last year.
