Tudor watch inspired by the Ducati Scrambler

Just in case you've got a new Ducati Scrambler and need a matching watch!

Fastrider is the new Tudor watch inspired by the Ducati Scrambler
A new world exclusive has been presented at Baselworld: Fastrider strengthens the partnership between Tudor and Ducati, which began in 2011
  • The new Tudor Fastrider is available in the following colours: '62 Yellow and Ducati Red for the Icon version and Wild Green for the Urban Enduro version
  • Inspired by the Ducati Scrambler and its universe, the watch is characterised by a seductive combination of brushed steel and ceramic, and is waterproof up to 150 metres
Borgo Panigale (Bologna), 27 March 2015 – Tudor, the famous watch brand, enters the Land of Joy, presenting the most recent version of the Tudor Fastrider at Baselworld, the World Watch and Jewellery Fair which took place in Basel (Switzerland) from 19 to 26 March. This new product strengthens - through the Ducati Scrambler brand - the relationship between Tudor and Ducati, which began in 2011.
While creating the Fastrider models, the Style Atelier of Tudor took its inspiration from the Ducati Scrambler world, characterised by creativity and free expression. Three different dials have been designed for the new Tudor Fastrider, to reflect the colours of the various Ducati Scrambler versions: '62 Yellow and Ducati Red for the Icon version and Wild Green for the Urban Enduro version. Stripped back to the essentials, the dials are legible and colourful, bringing versatility and new-found energy to the Fastrider line.
The Ducati Scrambler is characterised by a combination of authentic and sophisticated materials, such as the aluminium of the rear swingarm and engine cover, and the steel of the tear-shaped fuel tank and frame, with new-generation components such as the front and rear LED lighting, the LCD instruments and the USB socket underneath the seat. In the same way, Tudor blends noble materials such as steel with high-tech materials such as rubber.
The new Tudor Fastrider chronograph has a brushed steel case that is waterproof to a depth of 150 metres. The bezel is made of matt black ceramic and the push pieces and crown are also matt black. It holds a self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of approximately 46 hours, providing a calendar function with rapid corrector which may be read through an aperture positioned at 4.30.
The application of the motorcycle aesthetic does not end with the middle case of this new Tudor model. One of the two bracelets available with the Fastrider chronograph is an interpretation of typical leather saddles with gadroons, offering an additional sporty effect. The other option is a matt black rubber strap that reinforces the technical language of the watch.
Just as the Ducati Scrambler takes the best of the past and reinterprets it in a modern way, so the Tudor collection was developed according to two main cornerstones, heritage and technology. All of the watches in the collection combine elements of the brand's history with a contemporary touch, present in different proportions in each different model, depending on which of the two elements should be predominant. This is why both Tudor Fastrider and Ducati Scrambler use modern language to express the pure essence of their two individual worlds.

Ducati Team all set for opening round of 2015 MotoGP World Championship in Qatar

After the winter tests in Malaysia in February and Qatar in mid-March, the Ducati Team is now all set for the opening round of the 2015 MotoGP World Championship, scheduled to take place on Sundayevening at the floodlit Losail International Circuit.
Both Ducati Team riders will be giving the race debut to the new Ducati Desmosedici GP15, which was unveiled to the press just over one month ago in Ducati headquarters in Bologna, and which had its shakedown in the Sepang 2 test at the end of February. Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone were immediately able to appreciate the characteristics of the new bike; they set interesting times in Malaysia and then, two weeks later in Qatar, finished the final two days of pre-season testing in first and third place.

Even though the results obtained in Qatar testing were undoubtedly positive, the Italian team is fully aware that it still has to work on various aspects of the GP15, also in view of the fact that it is still a brand-new bike, with just over 1000 kms on the board.
The Qatar weekend will begin on Thursday evening with the first Free Practice session, while the race will be held on Sunday at 9pm local time (20.00 CET).

Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team #04)
“I am really pleased with the test in Qatar, because I was fast on both new and used tyres. I start the season with optimism because the new GP15 is a much better bike than the previous model, in Qatar it adapted really well immediately and so I think we can do well in the race. The Losail circuit is very unusual, but I’ve always gone well at this track and so I can’t wait to line up for the first race.”
Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team #29)
“I’m happy with the way testing went at Losail last week and with the work that we did. It’s a pity we couldn’t test on the final day because we still needed to do some more work on the GP15. In any case fromThursday evening we’ll be trying to sort things out in the best possible way and I feel confident for the race. In my opinion, this is a great track and racing at night is always really special. I like Losail a lot: I’ve won here in the past and done some other podiums so for sure it’s a positive track for me.”
The Losail International Circuit
The Losail circuit is located along the motorway that leads to Al Khor from the capital Doha. The track is 5.4 km long and has sixteen corners (10 right, 6 left). The 1.068 km main straight is one of the longest in the entire championship. The infrastructure and facilities were built and inaugurated in 2004, and this will be the twelfth edition of the GP of Qatar.

Ducati expansion into India shifts into top gear

Ducati has re-entered the market with an official subsidiary, Ducati India Private Limited, which is ready to provide a premium ownership experience to motorcycle enthusiasts in India. Ducati is reinforcing its commitment to the Indian market with the opening of world class dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon.
Infinity has opened a Ducati dealership in Mumbai, whilst AMP has established dealerships in Delhi and Gurgaon; the latter claimed to be Ducati’s largest showroom in their global network.
The initial plan for a network of Ducati dealerships to be established by the end of its first year is now on target with the dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon being fully operational. These dealerships are the first to house Ducati’s new world-class service facilities. In addition to a new dealership opening in Bangalore shortly, Ducati India is also currently identifying, confirming and training a network of highly qualified and enthusiastic dealers ready to offer the 2015 models in other key cities and is confident that every dealership will transfer its passion and dedication for the brand into great service for its customers. Ducati India is set to execute the same intensive program of training provided globally, replicating the identical high standards of after-sales service that the iconic Italian brand is known for providing around the world. Ducati India Pvt Ltd - Managing Director, Ravi Avalur confirmed: “Our intention was to open in India with an official Ducati presence only when we were absolutely ready. I can now confirm that our after-sales service centres will ensure exactly the same high standards achieved across Ducati’s global network. We really appreciate the efforts put in by AMP and Infinity in setting up these world class dealerships in record time.”
Ducati’s entry is perfectly timed to receive the brand new Ducati Scrambler, an avant-garde model family that will introduce an entirely new motorcycling lifestyle. Ducati’s official presence in India will be further underlined by the availability of the Italian manufacturer’s range of motorcycles, including the Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster and Superbike.

A fleet of maxi scooters comprising 30 of the innovative BMW C evolution was delivered to the Barcelona City Hall for use by the local police. The first completely electrically powered scooter manufactured by BMW Motorrad will allow the police to move with maximum efficiency and zero emissions.

The BMW C evolution is BMW Motorrad’s answer to zero-emissions urban mobility. With a continuous output of 11KW and a maximum output of 35 KW, the scooter is homologated to be ridden with an A1 or B licence. The BMW electric scooter combines sheer electric riding pleasure with excellent dynamic qualities as well as the advantages of a zero emission vehicle, thereby providing a whole new riding experience.

With its high performance, the BMW C evolution was a perfect choice for Barcelona - a pioneering city in the use of environment-friendly vehicles. The model purchased by the city authorities is identical to the regular version but with modifications to adapt it to police use. These include a raised screen for protection purposes and a public address and signalling system.

Highlighting the importance of the delivery of this fleet for BMW, Guenther Seemann, President of BMW Group Spain, was there to hand over the scooter keys to mayor Xavier Trias. Seemann said: “The delivery of this fleet is a special achievement for the BMW Group for two main reasons: it is the first fleet of electric maxi scooters worldwide to be supplied and secondly the recipient is the city of Barcelona - a role model in Europe when it comes to two-wheel mobility. At the BMW Group we believe strongly that the future of urban mobility will be shaped in the next few years by cities with minimum emissions."

Alphabet, leasing multi-brand company of the BMW Group, participates as administrator of the motorcycle fleet. Rocío Carrascosa, CEO of Alphabet Spain, said "With this project we show once again our commitment to promote a more sustainable mobility in our cities." Alphabet offers innovative solutions such as AlphaCity, which offers its customers the possibility to rent vehicles incorporating technology developed for shared use by multiple users and also billing for private use use. AlphaElectric offers also rentals of electric vehicles, with solutions for the installation of charging points and tools to determine the possibilities to electrify a fleet in the optimal way.

Port Dover - Friday the 13th

Every Friday the 13th motorcycle minded people gather in Port Dover, Ontario and today is - you guessed it - Friday the 13th!

Might be a little chilly to ride today but there still should be lots of motorcycle camradarie.

The Friday the 13th tradition started in 1981. Chris Simons and approximately 25 friends, through word of mouth, got together at the Commerical Hotel {The Zoo}, now known as Angelos of Dover. It was in November and it was Friday the 13th. They had such a good time they decided they should do it every Friday the 13th. And so the tradition was born.

Ural Motorcycles are Soviet-style sidecar motorbikes that have been made in Siberia since World War II. But in 2000 a group of Russian entrepreneurs led by Ilya Khait bought the brand, left manufacturing in Russia, moved headquarters to Seattle, and began marketing the bikes to young riders with discretionary funds and wanderlust.
